If You Ever Leave Me

If you ever leave me
I will not mourn.

I will know I belong to the azure.
Walking the solitary path I will blend
the serene.

Ambling along the road,
I will greet the fenced blooms,
Together we will laugh at the
Jumping bunny, grazing on the green.

Across the road, will meet the shadow
Of that giant tree and smile,
Befriend the ledge in the lake-front
Beneath it’s boughs,
Holding hands with the resting gust,
Staring amazed at the calm
Touching the sublime.

Sharing the ledge with a stranger,
Will put the sun to bed, mingling
our untold yawns,
Together will gaze at the clouds travelling,
And beam at the complaining moon
Trying to find its way.
The fire flies will get busy giving light
to the dark,
Will return, fisting a few, seated cosy
in my pocket, illuminating
That now dark corner.

The soup we together made,
Will seat in the oven, warming the cold,
Corns floating like memories,
Life, fleeting moments woven in silk.

So if you are not there
I will not mourn,

YOU will mourn what you missed.

The last line is so profound. Beautiful expression of the solitude of mourning
